Bio

Victor was born in 1973 in Attleboro, Massachusetts and grew up in Peabody, Massachusetts. He ran varsity track in high school and dabbled in writing poetry, acting in the school theater program, and broadcasting when he wasn't running or studying. He finished high school and was accepted to Penn State University, where he majored in communications. A bout of illness suffered while recovering from a shoulder operation forced him to withdraw from Penn State, and a sense of civil responsibility led him to join the United States Army in 1992, at the age of 18. During his time in the Army, Victor became a Behavioral Science Specialist, receiving an honorable discharge in 1995.

Victor began writing songs shortly after he got out of the Army, and continued to hone his craft on his acoustic guitar in his free time. Following his discharge from the Army he went on to study Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Victor left school early, however, in order to pursue a career in software testing, in which field he would work for eight years before losing his taste for the corporate environment.

Victor traveled to California in June of 1999, where he spent six weeks living in his Jeep and working at construction sites before finding a job at a software development shop—which went under when the dot-com bubble burst in April of 2000. At around this time his heart told him the path he was on was not the right one, so he took some time off to work on his music. Victor began playing his acoustic guitar in clubs and bars in Hollywood, and by 2003 he had composed two albums of electronic music, as well as an acoustic album, which he plans to release in the near future. "For The Absent" is a track from that album.

In 2006, after years of networking within the artist community in and around Hollywood, Victor was asked to join the band Slow Burning Car as a keyboard player and vocalist. He had a working knowledge of the piano, which was the first instrument he had learned at the age of 13. Victor joined Slow Burning Car and traveled overseas and to many US states with them, and he still performs with them to this day.

In April of 2008, Victor and his girlfriend, Tiffany Peterson, had their first child, Scarlet Avia Peterson-Bishop. Victor takes care of Scarlet when he's not in the studio or on the road, and really enjoys watching her grow and develop.

Today, Victor is busy perfecting his piano-playing, rediscovering the guitar, and sharpening his vocal skills. He anxiously awaits the opportunity to tour again, and hopes he can touch people's lives with his music. He seeks to give back with his music by donating portions of his track sales and merchandise sales to charities. For more information about the charities, click here.
